pumplover wrote:That quorum call lasted for over an hour yesterday.........saw much of it on the streaming real player (which is a little blurry sometimes). The girl in particular you are talking about has only recently began sitting there in mmmm let's say the past two months. I caught her a couple of weeks ago during some other long quorum calls dipping up a storm!!! She's definitely a shoeplayer. Trouble is, I have no way to record. She also does my favorite move, where while sitting there with her legs crossed (sometimes dangling) she will drag the shoe on her other foot off, either by sliding her foot quickly to the side, or bringing her foot forward, popping the heel and slowly sliding the heel off as she brings her foot backwards. There's also a stenographer that does this. She actually was sitting in the chair on the other side. I just wish someone had clips they could post and share! Anybody out there? Please! I love CSpan shoeplay!!!

Pres. Bush Address at NAACP's Annual Nat'l Convention (7/20/2006) in the web http://www.cspan.org/.
The video link is rtsp://video.c-span.org/15days/e072206_bush.rm,but it does not work.
I try this Book TV's After Words: Schama interviewed by Medford (7/22/2006),the video link is rtsp://video.c-span.org/archive/arc_btv/arc_btv072206_4.rm and it works.
If I download Pres. Bush Address at NAACP's Annual Nat'l Convention in 7/21/2006,I think it may be work.
the problem with CSpan is that you have to watch all day unless you can TIVO and speed through the footage real quick to find those instances where there is shoeplay. I wished CSpan archived, even if for a day, the Senate and House.
Here's what I've been doing because after having my DVR for over a year, I just discovered this.
I work from home most of the time and so I put my little TV upstairs on CSPAN and the big TV downstairs (with DVR) on CSPAN. I don't record everything but just kind of watch it upstairs. If I see something that looked like shoeplay, I go downstairs rewind it, watch it a few times and if it turns out to be gold, you just hit the record button and as long as you have had that same channel on, it will record backwards about :15. So even if you miss recording it, you can still catch it and record it. It beats 6 hours of video to sniff through.
It worked awesome last night. I was watching the Phillies/Braves game on ESPN and they had a camera up in the stands. It panned across this lady sitting cross legged with her shoe off. I rewound it, saw that was the case and hit record. When I watched the segment later, she had her 1 shoe off that was crossed and the other shoe on...it was cool!
C-Span 2 is somewhat better for shoeplay, etc. than regular C-Span. Mostly because of the Senate. I don't have C-Span 2 any longer, but things have changed, and not for the better, on c-span. Washington Journal, their morning talk show, used to be great for shoeplay and dangling, but the set and the camera angles no longer provide the great views of the past. Just recently though, I was watching a replay of a Senate hearing on Iraq with 4 high ranking officers testifying, and a women sitting behind General Abizaid had her legs crossed and was dangling away. She then shook her leg hard a few times and her shoe flew off her foot... amazing!! So you really have to watch, because you just never know. The Senate hearings in the Hart building are the best, because you can see the legs and feet of the people behind the people being questioned.
Then what is the web of C-Span 2?? Where are these Senate video links????

A woman dangling in first row: 30:20 - 30:28 (time)
Again: 3:45 - 30:55
The clip geehot can be found by searching the archives on CSpan's website for 'abizaid.' The shoe dangle and drop is at 3:02:16-18. It was a hearing n 5/19/06 before the senate armed services committee. There were four other generals. At 3:19:30 There is a woman, even though bare that does some good foot rotation. Thanks for the heads up! If anyone has a streaming recorder, grab this clip! I'm trying myself.
