I responded brusquely to hiker's reply because:

(a) I hadn't realized he was a moderator and so (mis)read his reply as an impertinence coming from a fellow user who stumbled across the corpse of a horse already well and dead, and decided to flog it.


(b) The repetition of his "End of story" proclamation seemed to me a non sequitiur in light of my last reply to Nyllover, a day earlier, in which it seemed clear to me the matter had already been resolved.

Had I known hiker was a moderator, I probably wouldn't have bothered to respond.
Please take this clarification at face value; I'm neither trying to kiss your ass nor to get he last word.
I never insist on being right, only understood.

I found it kind of odd how in defending the purity of children, the moderator came off as a real prick. That takes talent.

Well kmonkey, we are humans. And when you touch such delicate subjects, it's hard to stay calm and be an "iceman moderator"

I totally understand hiker and i can't blame him. He actually did a great job, as usual, in making everything clear.

notalwaysright10000 this message you posted has a lot of value in my opinion, thanks a lot for understanding the situation. A community works MUCH better when there are people like you that understand how hard it is to be a moderator

That's the thing about being a prick. Very rarely are we aware of it. Nobody likes it when it's them. Firm and direct turn to prideful and arrogant in a blink...and then, oh crap...I was trying to be anti-pedophile, and now I'M the jackass? Yep.

As for Hiker being a "prick about it"...not sure about that. The whole idea is not up for debate or discussion, that's the decision. It's 100% the right decision and not sure why there is an agrument about it. If some people "God forbid" are into that stuff, then I'm sure there are sites for that.

By the way kmonkey (and everyone else), one last warning. Now that you know whom the moderators are, please refrain to define them prick or anything not respectful. We are here to keep this forum up, and it's a tough job. Least you can do is show respect and accept our decisions without using that kind of language.
