I thought I was clever.
Changed my IP and location to Netherlands and Canada but I failed.
Youtube, JDwonloader and also Clipconverter failed.

i was able to pass through the restriction with proxy switcher pro but it's a rental video .
0,99 EUR
it's not much, but with the proxy switching the download will be too slow.

if someone want to give any chance to it:

i've used this italian server: 188.213.174.31:3128 the uploader is italian it seemed an obvious choice .

Good job, you posted a real helpful video from 2009! I'm sure that's still relevant.

Youtube rental videos are DRM protected. I downloaded the video using certain software but you can't play it because it's got Youtube DRM on it.

So, capturing the video directly via screencapture is the only way.
