I remember a psychologist on the talk show circuit in the 90s saying that women will dangle her shoe show that she is interested in a man?What do you think?

I think some do especially if they know the guy has a foot fetish but some just do it naturally IMO

Most of them do it naturally, and most of thoes doing it naturally have quite a high self confidence.

Doing it to flirt... it's possible, surely... but i think it's very rare...

Most of them do it naturally and but i read and heard from many sex editors and on TV that when women shoeplay is sign of flirting...it is on the top 10 of signs that a girl is shoeplaying and her foot and body is looking at you is that she feels comfortable and likes you...and one greek sex editor once on a tv show said to women that if you like a guy its of the things you do to show him interest.. and i remember that if you are on a date with a girl , if you check under that table and she is heelpoping or shoeplay its a singing that she feels pleasant and comfortable with you .if i find that part from the show i will post it.

"...i read and heard from many sex editors and on TV ..."

I'm going to be blunt here. Any time someone is identified as a "sex editor" you can simply dismiss what they're saying with a wave of the hand. This is a made-up term television producers use to describe someone who has no actual credentials. Moreover, there is no "science" of flirting or body language. There is simply no such field, and no such research with any remotely conclusive results. It just doesn't exist.

That said, I nonetheless think the basic idea is pretty much right. If a girl is shoeplaying, it does mean she's comfortable and at ease. I'm convinced of this not because there's any science to support it (there isn't) but just based on my own observations of human behavior. If a girl you're with who is shoeplaying, I'd say it's definitely a good sign, but it certainly is not flirting *ipso facto*. And when it is flirting, I very seriously doubt it's conscious in more than a very small percentage of women. I hasten to add that I have no expertise in the matter, but neither does anyone else.

I can't resist saying something here about television psychologists and assorted "[ ] experts".
They're full of shit. Always. No exceptions.
This may sound like a bold and arrogant statement, but as a grad student in the cognitive sciences, I have absolutely never seen anyone on television identified as a psychologist, psychiatrist, or neuroscientist who wasn't either massively and shamelessly replete with shit, or at best oversimplifying the actual science in grossly irresponsible and/or misleading ways.
Not. Fucking. Once.

Are you an expert on something? Sure you are. There must be something, be it cardiology or fly fishing or bass guitar motorcycle repair. Remember that time, maybe years ago, that a tv show did a little segment on it? Remember how badly they fucked it up? Remember how many times you said to yourself, "Well, NOT exactly..."?
Yeah, well it's not just things you know about that they fuck up. It' everything else.
Christ, tv allows people to think there's such thing as a "lie detector" test.
Uh, OK, what should I write here...

My strong preference is for seated, both-feet shoeplay. Dangling, and shoeplay with open-toed shoes or mules, I'm afraid don't do as much for me.

And sometimes, the simplest answer is the right answer. Sometimes their foot just hurts and its a simple way for relief. Once the dangling begins it give their toes relief from the toe box and laso relief on the heel.
Just my 2 pennies.

I am not going to argue but I don't think all tv psychologist or whatever are full of shit but some most definitely are.But of course who can take them seriously when you got these crazy talk show guest with their crazy problems.

I do listen to Dr.Drew and his advice

But Laura Shlesinger is definitely full of shit.

i had several chats with different women who all had foot fetish experiences, and some noticed that unintional shoeplay can be misunderstood for seduction. As Mr Mike said, most of them do shoeplay or dip to relax from painfull shoes..
But very often,some of them who catch a guy staring, turn this to a real tease, because they are flattered to feel themselves attractive or for curiosity. Most of them don't go any further than confirming that the guy is a foot fetishist and play to tease him. and others are annoyed and stop the shoeplay
i had a chat with a married women who discovered foot fetichism with her husband. she told me that she has always been a natural shoeplayer. Before she met her husband, shoeplay was some kind of unconcious thing for her and far away from imagining it could turn some guys on. After, once she was more aware of foot fetichism and the shoeplay part, she paid attention in her surroundings while she was shoeplaying in public places. she told me that very often she "catches" a guy staring ,and it became for her, a real pleasure to tease men that way. She even admited she cheated once because she was as much aroused as the guy she was teasing. she ended footjobing him in a car....
and to refer to the great experience that our friend Sogfile ahd the chance to live http://www.crazyforfeet.com/phpBB2/topic16697.html , i am really conviced that shoeplay is great way to show mutual interest....

@footoncrotch

"...she told me that very often she "catches" a guy staring..."

Often? Staring? Unambiguously, specifically at her shoeplay?
Sorry, I frankly find that very hard to believe when it so starkly contradicts my own experience. I've been an avid - even obsessive -shopeplay watcher my entire life, and the number of times I've spotted a "fellow hunter in the woods", so to speak, is exactly zero. Or anyway, I've seen no unambiguous cases. (Maybe three or four times in my life I've seen *possible cases*. ) The number of views shoeplay videos tend to get suggests to me that, although foot fetishism in general appears to be the most common fetish, those of us who are *specifically* into shoeplay appear to number not much more than a few tens of thousands world wide. (I'm assuming an unusually high response rate for such a niche interest, so this reasoning is *potentially* somewhat circular.)

@Footsiefreak

"I am not going to argue..."

No reason to. Whether you care about evidence and truth is something you must decide for yourself. Here's a simple exercise to determine whether any alleged "expert" is anything of the sort:
Does he tell you explicitly *how exactly* he knows what he claims to know?

As the great Bertrand Russell said, what makes a scientist a scientist is not *what* he believes, but *how and why* he came to believe it. Any expert who is sketchy about how exactly he knows what he claims to, any expert whose stance is "just take my word for it, I'm the expert" -whether a psychologist or economist or "counter-terrorism expert" - is simply full of shit, automatically and necessarily.
Uh, OK, what should I write here...

to use notalways terminology, I have seen other hunters in the woods maybe 5 times at most and always in librarys (and this is now moving close to 30 years of cruising)....never in a bookstore, mall, casino or any other public places I would cruise... There is a very large black man who currently cruises the same library as me at the moment altho we have never spoken.

in answer to the original question , I would say the % of women who knew I was watching their feet and actively participated at well under 1%.....it is far more common for them to put their shoes back on or just leave the situation..and even that is still under 5% of my experiences. ,most are just oblivious.

@notalwaysright10000
i was only relaying one testimonial. this woman was aware of what foot fetichism is. others may wonder what we are staring at.
personally when i m staring a women shoeplay, i m so focused on it that i don't take time to look around if another is another fellow hunter is doing the same. what about you? personaly, i know for having been caught several times, that i don't succeed in being discreet. maybe some shoeplay hunters are more, and so unvisible to others.
My opinion is you don't need to be specificaly into shoeplay to enjoy it. Shoeplay is only one practice in foot fetichism among tenth of others. The only thing in common is love of women's feet. Whatever you like doing with feet in our privacy, as foot lovers, shoeplay is a way to see object of our fetishism in public places. In my mind all foot fetichists are likely to love shoeplay.Some are specificaly into shoeplay, and some like me are into other practices like footjobs, foot worship, but also into shoeplay.

Some people have better luck in certain places for me now its the casino.

But in the 90s it was the mall,food courts, book stores but things have drastically changed.Alot of the bookstores in the area have closed and the business types don't go into the food courts anymore

When I was a kid the arcade was my hotspot with moms watvhing their kids play video games but of course video arcades are dead too.

Nope. A lot of women do it out of habit, boredom, anxiety, hyperactivity. Similar to how a woman will fidget with her bracelet or bite their nails.
I know some people want to believe that they go out of their way to turn foot fetishists on but the reality is most are completely oblivious the fact that "playing" with their shoes turns guys on.

Although, in public, during nice weather, when I am around a location either with my kids or not, and NOT near my wife, I have noticed women smile at me and then dip their shoes. Sometimes being one of the only fathers at a playground, during the day, has perks, when the women and moms all do shoeplay with their ballet flats, heels or flipflops. I have seen so many sexy feet and toes and shoes that you can hear the squeak and squish of sweat and it is just amazing. But still, I have had experiences where these women will look at my kids, smile at me, and then basically do everything short of beg me to worship their feet. I don't know if the sight of a responsible father is a big catch or if the women I have seen are really desperate, but I think some women do shoeplay as a way of doing a no strings attached flirting.
