"How in the world have you been, Tommy?" She asked patting his hand. A waiter placed a salad in front of each of us. "You've been such a busy little worker bee I haven't seen you in weeks."
Tommy tried to be calm. "I have been fine Alexis. I hope you have."
"Of course I have, Tommy. Being a partner is so much fun. I make gobs of money while worker bees like you do all the work." She laughed and took a sip of wine.
Alexis turned to Hank. "Hank, be a good boy." Alexis tossed her car keys on the table. The Lexus symbol stared at us from the remote entry keypad. "I forgot my purse. Will you be a good pet and get it for me?"
Like a 'good pet', Hank smiled, snatched the car keys, and padded away to the parking lot. When Hank was out of earshot, Alexis continued.
"Hank is such a hunk. Isn't he beautiful?" She didn't wait for a response. "He is wonderful in the sack but absolutely stupid. He has the IQ of a six year old."
I looked down and noticed that Alexis had her stockinged foot in Tommy's lap. Alexis, I knew, still had the hots for Tommy. She thought of me as the interloper.
She leaned toward Tommy. "Your last shot at making partner will come up this year, Tommy." I stared, aghast as she wiggled her toes in his lap. As her lover for several months, she was probably well aware of his foot fetish.
"I'll do everything I can to help you." She gave Tommy a seductive smile. "Our next partner meeting is next month." Tommy was beet red.
