Are we perverts?

This has been bothering me since the beginning of the month when I saw a story on Fox News about a new law in New York City going into effect to make peeping at a woman a crime. Megyn Kelly was co-anchoring show with Bill Hemmer. The women reporters were all for lynching guys who try to stare down their blouses or up their skirts on the subways or in retaurants. The offensive part of the report was that since they could not show guys drooling after tits and asses, they showed close-ups of women's feet at the beach. My question is, does this, in the logic of Fox News, make the cameramen just as perverted for shooting close-ups? The worst comment came from Kelly. She said she had to sit holding a piece of paper at her crossed legs because she knew the perverted viewers were trying to look up her dress. Co-anchor Hemmer said she was paranoid and she had to sit like that because she wore such a short skirt. Good for him! What I want to know is what she thinks of the cameraman for taking long shots of her while seated. And what she thinks of her bosses who obviously hire women for their looks and make the sets conducive to exciting views of their legs. Is her boss Rupert Murdoch the biggest pervert for wanting women to display their wares to drive up ratings? And isn't she very hypocritical for working in a situation where she displays her legs for all and then complains that she knows the audience is looking? Why doesn't she show up in a burqa? Or better yet, quit. She can't be so naive as to think that much of the audience is interested in her journalistic skills. I would think Murdoch would be about ready to fire her if she complains again about having to hide her legs. If a guy wears no shirt and his chest looks good, don't women look? Don't a lot check out guy's crotches and rear ends in tight pants? What about those that attend Chippendales male dancer performances? I would think they are just as "perverted" as men.

OK rant over.

Well, i think you're right. My english is not good enough to express my feelings about what you wrote, but i must say that it was really stupid and NOT correct to talk about that on TV. So now everytime a man look at a woman...she can persecute him? Silly, just silly.
I've always thought (and i still do) that it's against the law (or should be) to try to watch something that should not be seen (upskirt), but it's perfectly legal to look at something that it's in clear view (feet).
Now if they want to say that this is against the law...well, good luck to them in demonstrating it. At least here in Italy.

I don't know... i really think you should consider that TV show as one of the many TV shows like "Let's make a big deal of a stupid thing" ...

There are women who peep at men and society deems that harmless they are just having fun and everyone laughs so they can't be arrested either? They decide what they wear and we get called perverts for looking?Especially at my job women have there boobs just jumping out or legs exposed.I AM A MAN THAT'S WHAT I WAS BORN TO LOOK AT!Women played these fuckin teasing games and some of them already have a man but when you try to flirt "all of the sudden you are harassing them"The law is if it is out in public then I have the right to look

I wouldn't really pay much attention to these news shows. They really have nothing better to talk about other than to pick on ones' weakness. Also it brings us back to the conclusion that a few bad apples are putting us in a very bad position.

If you ask then the answer is simply this; no we're not perverts. We do not flash people in public, we don't slap them on the ass. Actually we're doing something that not a lot of people can really enjoy. Let's just keep this site the way it is, and show those people that we really are just a normal group of people. :superlol:

That is just mad... :?

But it doesn't surprise me anymore, nor does it amaze me... There is so much puritanity (is there such word? ) in the US its just plain scary. I wouldnt mind, I don't live in states, but it seems like the whole world is influenced by US's decisions and their way of life...

Sad and scary, that's all I can say...

Well said everybody! Remember there are "extremists" or "bad apples" as you say, exist in every group of people. Unfortunatley those types are the only types that make the news. Just take it with a grain of salt.
