Yes this look is so rare these days. It was very popular in the late 90s and early 2000s. I remember my college library was literally filled with girls wearing outfits like this. They would slide their shoes off and rub their silky socked feet together for hours - those were the glory days.

My tween years. Oddly enough I wasn't in the library that much back then so I missed a lot of that stuff.
What color socks do you prefer? For socks I prefer brighter colors or just white — especially just the right amout of thinness. With stockings, I'll take about anything color so long as it's the right amount of sheer and opaque.

When I say thin, I mean like this. If you can tell. This is from a series of videos on FB of two siblings pranking each other LOL. I always thought the sister had nice feet and wears the kind of socks I like — this new "no show" looks is growing on me

These with those loafer/moccasin style house shoes that are in style would be a perfect sight in my opinion.

My preference has always been women wearing dark dressy socks with professional outfits and low, loose shoes. It is definitely a niche thing because this is not a super popular look with women, and a lot of guys are actually turned off by it. I like thin material, nylon is good but weirdly enough it has to be totally opaque for me to be really into it. Microfiber, nylon/spandex mix is super sexy. The best for me is when there is alot of sock showing, and the color of them (favorites being black, navy blue, dark gray, or brown) contrasts with the pants - I actually think this goes back to the early 90s, when I was in middle school, as the preppy look was pretty prevalent back then. No question though, I am definitely on an island with this, but it's good to see that others appreciate socks, in whatever form. Here are some examples of what I really like:

Yeah no question about it - it definitely has an element of menswear about it. To each his own though, right?
