I don't think the news shows would necessarily have to be footcam-only, but I would go for a commercial-free format where on the commercial breaks, they cut to cameras of the behind-the-scenes action. Let's see the weather reporter slip her heels off after her show, or the girl at the news desk exchanging her shoes to rush across the studio. And sets that require a bit of standing around. That would help!
