It may be because the plot summary, according to iMDB is SOMEWHAT similar to Crowe's description, although the plot outline is different.

Damn, you may be right, Hiker. But I'll check it out anyway, even if it's not the one we're after.

I just previewed this movie on a VOD site and that doesn't seem to be it either.
