Why do foot and shoe fetishists get so much crap?

Have you ever noticed whenever foot or shoe fetishists are shown in the media its usually for something negative. In every show I've seen with a foot or shoe fetishist the character is either mocked for it or are psychopaths.

I'd like to see a show with a foot or shoe fetishist as the protagonist.

I agree...talked to my therapist about this very subject, due to my low self-esteem-in part due to my fetish. She claimed there was a positive foot fetish storyline on Ugly Betty, but I never saw it or heard anything about it. The only "neutral" portrayal I can remember is the episode of the MTV show True Life or Real Life (?) with their episode about a foot fetishist.

People just bash things that they dont understand.If it was a leg or butt lover they usually laugh it off.But we are a minority so we dont get equal treatment or respect in what we think is sexy.

We are different. The norm is massage breasts, then put penis to pussy. Any deviation is met by anger, which all non-conformists get. Frankly, if my first girlfriend did not stick her feet in my lap to recapture my attention, I wonder how I'd have turned out? Now, I will never know. I just wish that I knew more women who wanted it as much as I do.

I also think a lot people, M/F, think that feet are "disgusting". So when someone actually likes feet, it must be "disgusting" to most people.

However, I do notice that there are a lot of "peeping Toms" getting busted out there for various reasons, not just feet related!

It's funny, we have the most common fetish out there, FEET, but we get the worst rap~

I agree , well QuentinTarantino put some hot sexy scenes in his movies and they were labelled "cool scenes", but for the rest of the media, in TV shows we're all "disgusting pervs"...
I also noticed in those pay-call shows like Playboy TV Chat or bluebird TV lots of girls dangle their heels and use their feet to tease...

So I wonder, women wear sexy shoes, stockings, nylons not only because it looks good but to call our attention,tease, get noticed,etc.. but we (the foot fetishists) are considered disgusting perverts... go figure.

It's all just taboo and very misunderstood. If you mention the word fetish to anyone the immediately jump to feet. And although it's true women do a lot to draw attention to their feet only to express disgust when they find someone observing them. It's just we are programmed by pop culture. I had jury duty for a murder trial over the summer and when they were questioning me about the death penalty I made it known that I am an atheist. Later that evening a lady approached me and asked me about being an atheist, she said she was always taught that atheist people were evil people but she witnessed how nice and warm I was from just a brief conversation. My pt being we are programmed at a very young age to detest certain things and feet just happens to be one of them. Until we grow as a society to fully accept people for who they are, we will forever be outcasts. I find this topic truly strange since we live in a society where homosexuals are still condemned.
