Let me reiterate my position on this: I prefer my women in hoisery. Whether it's stockings or pantyhose, nylon or silk, it doesn't matter. When she's out and about at work, on a date, dinner, shopping or such I believe she should wear hoisery (and heels).
I don't mind bare legs and feet though. At home, in bed, in a casual atmosphere they're fine. There's nothing like hot naked female flesh! One good thing that the bare trend has done though is that it has forced women to start taking care of their feet.
What I don't understand is why hoisery manufacturers seem to be sitting on their collective asses when it comes to marketing and advertising?
Every fashion show you see on TV or in magazines features women going bare. Ads for clothes and shoes also show bare. Why aren't the hoisery manufacturers paying celebrities for endorsments? Why aren't they paying clothes or shoe designers to feature their products in ads and shows?
Maybe I'm missing something but if you want to survive as a business you have to try new things and new strategies when your sales slump.
One positive sign here in the States is that there seems to be a slow move back to a more professionally dressed workplace. In the late 90s the move was to a more casual look, and I remember with horror the day my old company said that hose was no longer required for women
Now some organizations are going back to suits for men and skirts/hose and pumps for women. We'll see what happens.
There's one attractive woman here at work who consistenly wears hose and heels (or least loafers) each day. I wish I could thank her for that but hey...

So if you're drinking a beer tonight, raise a glass to the 50s and 60s - a time when a woman could be classy and sexy without looking trashy and cheap.
