They had adjustable tables so they could raise and lower them to suit their needs.
There was one lady who was in her 30's at the time. Nothing special; just TALL (over 6 ft) and thin. But she did wear slip on type of shoes; sometimes with a small heel and sometimes with a med heel. She was seated at a table that was probably adjusted for someone who was more of a typical height for women. She usually sat with both feet flat on the floor; probably because the table wasn't high enough to cross them.
One day she asked the techs if they could adust the table for her. That was no problem. I volunteered to help. We raised that table several inches until she found the approx height she liked and thanked us. We wanted to adjust the height of her chair too, but it was not adjustable. She said "it didn't really matter; she liked the low sitting chair. Now she had plenty of room to cross her legs and she did. Nice looonnnnggg legs. great legs actually. I was drawn to them.
I stopped by one day and asked how the table was. She replied "oh..much better...thanks a lot". I said "no problem; if you need it adjusted again, just let me know". We talked a little bit now and then but I could tell she had no interest in me.
But she could continually find problems with boards that I didn't find. I guess I wasn't very good yet. After awhile, I pulled up a chair on the other side of her table while she was working on one of my boards. She again had her leg crossed and looked briefly under the table. I said "I see you have some room to cross your legs". She said "yeah..it is great...thank you guys".
As I was there talking with her one day I occasionally took a peek under the table while her attention was focused on the board. I got lucky; she popped the heel of the shoe and gradually let it slide down her stocking foot almost to a vertical dangle. I had pulled my chair away from the table to watch carefully. The heel of the shoe was about 2" from the floor. I was excited. She let it slip even further until the heel of the shoe hit the tile floor. She then let flipped the shoe up and down, letting the heel of the shoe hit the floor. I love it when that happens. So I positioned my foot so that the heel of her shoe would hit mine and it did, several times. but she never knew it, I guess. Finally the shoe dropped and it lied on top of my shoe. Pretty toes and nail polish. THEN she brushed my leg lightly and curled her toes. What a turn on. She had to know this as she brushed it a little bit harder. But she never said a word. She even pointed her toes down and contacted my foot. She had to know it was my foot cuz the floor was hard and I had soft shoes on.
Then she looked as if she wanted to slip her shoe back on and even looked under the table for it. I picked it up and slipped it back on her foot, but letting it dangle. She said "thanks". Then she would repeat with the other foot and so did I. I even complimented her on her nail polish, which was red. She grinned and said "red is your fav color?". I said "yes". She smiled. I even let my hand find its way to her stocking foot and rub it a little bit. She would smile politely but never said a single word.
This went on for months and I made a point of going over there as often as I could. I always made up some legitimate excuse. And she would always do her thing, dangling, losing, and rubbing her toes against my leg, and me slipping her shoe back on. I was in heaven and looked forward to my job! We had a few company picnics and I made a point to sit across from her, and she even did it then. I know it was no accident; a couple of times she would even rub her stocking feet up and down my lower leg.
Now you would say that she was interested in SOMETHING. But she rarely said a word to me outside of work or even at breaktime or lunchtime, but the times I was fortunate enough to get a seat across from her at lunchtime, she did it again, but not quite as much. But she would never "save" a chair across from her at lunchtime. It was up to me to get to that seat first. BTW, I never saw her do this with anyone else.
If we passed in the building she would just say "hi". and go on her way. I even asked her out but she declined saying she was MARRIED. I never saw the ring though. Once I caught her outside going towards her car, and asked her if she wanted to get some coffee and talk. She politely declined and said she had to pick up her kids. She would then say "bye. see ya tomorrow" and drive off.
I never did figure that out. I asked a couple of co-workers about her and they just told me she was really into religion and she WAS married. I never saw her "hubby" but didn't really expect to. So I just enjoyed my work and never asked her out again.
About a year later, the company got bought out and the employees were all let go. We each had an exit interview and I saw her then. I said to myself "this is your last chance". I asked her to sit down and talk. We made small talk. I asked her what her plans were and she said she wasn't sure. She never mentioned her husband. But she did her thing with her shoes, and rubbed my calf up and down, and I rubbed her stocking lower leg and foot. She simply replied "its been nice knowing you and all the techs. I hope you find something else". I replied "I wish I could see you some more". She smiled and said "I don't think that is possible". I told her I would miss her and she smiled and said the same thing. She then excused herself and said "I have to be going..good luck to you".
That was it. Never saw her again.
