Why is Japan porn censored?

Ok, we'll solve one of the biggest mysteries of the universe today.

Someone who lived in Japan may know about it. Or better one of our Japanese members, if we have any?

As we all know (and curse) most of the Japan porn movies are censored. What's the reason behind it? According to the laws is producing porn movies selling them allowed only if the genitals are censored? Or if they get caught is the punishment for the censored movies less? And very few of the movies are even not censored, are they produced in another country?

Any ideas, someone?

How does that differ from American porn, or any porn for that matter? The vast majority of guys that I've seen in porn movies are ugly as sin.

Well, asking glorious Google, I should do that at the first hand. Still annoying, too annoying, in a foot fetish movie I can't see the feet, they really know how to kill all the joy in the world...

Well my opinion is that the American male porn stars are better looking

Anyway maybe the reason is that they know the average guy who watches porn isnt that attractive so the fantasy of having ugly guys with rally hot chicks would sell better
