Is our fetish heriditary or not?

I think I touched on this topic before but since we have newer members I wanted to bring it up again.Does anyone else in their family have a foot fetish?Was it passed down to us or just a random thing?

I've never discussed it with my family, but as far as I've been able to tell, I don't think anyone in my family is interested in feet.

This is a really interesting speculation.
I know my brother doesn't. One time when we were walking past some outdoor tables at the Ghetty museum I spotted a woman who could easily have been a model with her ankles crossed, rotating the top foot. Sure enough the black pump slid away as we were approaching, and she was fanning her toes and moving the shoe around by the time we walked past. I was so distracted I very nearly collided head-on with an elderly couple waking the other way.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" my bother said, both annoyed and baffled.

I actually pretended to have a sharp pain in my leg and insisted we, you know, sit down for a couple minutes...
He wasn't really buying it, and was becoming increasingly exasperated but there was no way I was letting this opportunity go to waste and was prepared to fake a heart attack if necessary.

Anyway, the gorgeous girl kept busy for about another three minutes before she and her friend got up to leave and in that time my brother showed absolutely no sign that he appreciated that a once-in-a-decade windfall was right in front of us -though he did notice the girl and remark under his breath how beautiful she was.

I've kind of suspected my dad from time to time, but I stumbled upon his porn stash when I was fourteen and it was all generic soft-core stuff.

Anyway, as for the heritability hypothesis, my hunch is no, but it's just a hunch. Separating out the relative admixture of genes, environment, culture and epigenetics is almost impossible in the best of cases, and this is not the best of cases. We have pretty much zero data.

The neuroscientist V.S. Ramachandranhan has a hypothesis on what might cause foot fetishes, which I don't buy but is interesting nonetheless.

A have an ex who said this guy she dated had a foot fetish and so did his father. Said she thought it was weird how they both would stare at her feet.

Psychologist still don't completely understand what causes fetishism. They speculate it started during the Black Plague and people became paranoid with everything, sex included and the human psyche started looking for other safer means. It's believed it's carried on till this day with the threat of so many STD's.

Some speculate we condition ourselves to these fetishes as a child. Something about a relative who we are very fond of. This is the most popular belief in the scientific community.

My theory is we are born with it. Like homosexuality, no one really chooses this lifestyle. I can remember as far back as three where I uses to like to hide socks under my pillow when I slept. I didn't understand why and my parents thought it was strange or a phase. As I grew older it evolved to an attraction to female feet. Yet feet and humans being what they are my, fetish became more about feet in pantyhose, which makes less than perfect feet, perfect. And little by little it's evolved more. Yet the core aspect is there.

Unlike most people I am very open about my fetish. I believe the worst thing you can do is hide it. I have never lost a friend, a girlfriend, or a family member because of it. People are completely accepting and understanding. Because the truth is everyone has something they really love that they are ashamed of.

I do have a brother who claims to share my fetish for pantyhose. I don't think he really does. I think he just likes the women and not the hose. He's seen some of my porn and understands that the model is very hot, the shot itself is very cool or that the model isn't gonna be found doing anything else. So he likes it and believes it may be linked to the hose. I've tried explaining a fetish will completely consume you and you'll know if you really have one.

As a teen, I discovered my brother having a foot fetish. And I've read a number of foot guys who said they had a hereditary connection in their family. So yeah, I think a foot fetish is acquired by heredity sometimes.

I am really curious about who in my family had a foot fetish in previous generations and how it played out in their lives.

I have a friend who has a very strong foot tickling fetish in his family. From father to sons, to grandchildren, to cousins. And on and on it goes with each new generation in his family.

I don't think it is hereditary as I never saw signs in my father and my mother has an almost opposite behavior, always keeping on shoes and basically disliking feet. I sometimes suspect my lesbian sister has a thing for feet. As we are only 3 years apart we could have had the same stimulus of environment that may have fed the interest.
